In Dragon Age 2, I have the ability to fully project onto my power fantasy without the constant reminder that the game wasn't targeted at me. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was jarring when I made the mistake of making a brown character only for her to have a white family. You can make her look however you want, and her family will look like her! I was always so grateful Bioware implemented this after the way the families in Origins were explicitly white. (So that's one up on Commander Shepard, who dies regardless of what ending you choose.)
Merrill and Isabela both survive and Hawke can too if you don't leave her in the Fade in Inquisition. This Dragon Age II mod allows players to customize their party's armor and alter their look as well, making for a more immersive experience that actually feels like a fleshed-out RPG as opposed to. The player is in complete control her of sexuality.Īnd to add icing to the cake, she is also not forced to be a tragic lesbian trope. This allows BioWare a tighter grip on the story, although. Hawke is never once forced to allude to some past with a male or to flirt with a male. Dragon Age 2 has opted for a pre-created main character called Hawke, who will be either female or male depending on your preference. But then, the pseudo-Christian warrior characters always are in Dragon Age.)Īnd what's more, she was allowed to be unapologetically lesbian. That and Cassandra just happens to love romance and views duels in that light. I believe this was done on purpose to set up a future possible romance between Garrett Hawke and Cassandra, who in my humble opinion, has the best romance in Inquisition. Imagine romancing Cassandra as Hawke! As she is interrogating Varric during Dragon Age 2, it's revealed that Cassandra has a crush on Hawke, especially if Hawke duels the Arishok in defense of Isabela. However, rather than stay and fight the darkspawn menace, Hawke flees Ferelden and heads north. Fans will remember that the small village was raided and destroyed (an event that occurred off-screen in Origins), and Hawke was one of the survivors. Having Hawke continue her own story was an opportunity for the protagonist to continue her established romance from Dragon Age 2 or else start a new one in Inquisition with one of the new followers. As the Grey Warden from Dragon Age: Origins was fighting darkspawn, Hawke was living in Lothering. Armor also works differently than in Origins.
The hair and skin tone you select will also be the same for your family members ( Bethany, Carver, and Leandra ). So all of the companions suffered from not getting enough interaction with Hawke, the romances included. There are going to be other presets though and you can fully customize the appearence of your Hawke to the same extent (if not more so) than your character in Origins. 5)Open down menu from line 'SAVEGAMEBACKPACK'.
The choice of gender is mostly cosmetic, and affects some of the dialog, but has no impact. You will be controlling Garret Hawke or Marian Hawke (character name can be changed), depending on your choice of gender. This is the first choice that comes up once you select 'New Game'. 3) Open down the menu from curent number '0', 4) Open down menu 'SAVEGAMEPARTYLIST'. Dragon Age II Walkthrough: Character Creation Guide and Prologue. File You can edit is xxxxx.das, where xxxx its Your save game name. This was largely because the game was streamlined and rushed. 1) Put Your weapon to backpack and save your game.
Diversity is important.I always felt the romances were kind of. 11, which seems awfully early to me), but will be coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. I enjoy almost all of Bioware's work, but I think boiling one game down to another just makes gaming a less interesting place. Dragon Age II has no announced release date (though rumors swirl about Feb. Not because it was copying its less successful sibling, that's for sure. Hell, I enjoyed Mass Effect 2, but you have to wonder why Dragon Age was so successful in the first place. Bioware confirmed on their forums that you will have to play a human. The biggest change, however, is that Dragon Age 2 will be getting its own equivalent of Shepard, with player character options reduced to the male of female versions of "Hawke" (pictured? I think). Conversation will also now be handled via Mass Effect's wheel system. We will apparently retain "strategic combat", which is a good news, while console chums will be "playing to their strengths" with more actiony combat mechanics.
Thanks for taking the time to speak with us guys.
CND Modworks are the authors of many of the most popular Star Wars Battlefront II mods including live-action Ahsoka, Medieval Darth Vader, and more.
It's worth noting that the PC version isn't changing as much as the console versions of the game. Today we are talking to the modding team CND Modworks, aka DAZAssassin100 and Claymaver2000. Why change a winning formula? That's what I was left wondering after discovering that, on the one hand, Dragon Age sold better than any Bioware game ever as of November, and on the other, that the formula is changing dramatically for Dragon Age 2.
